We aim to provide a seamless shopping experience, but we understand that sometimes refunds are necessary. Below are the terms and conditions regarding refunds at The Book Barks.

Eligibility for Refunds

You may request a refund under the following conditions:

• The book has severe defects that affect readability, such as missing pages, torn or unreadable text, incorrect book received, or damaged binding.
  Your return request is submitted within 3 days of receiving your order and is approved by our team after review.
• The book is returned in its original condition, with all packaging and accessories.
• The return package is shipped within 5 days of approval (tracking details must be provided).

Non-Refundable Items

Certain conditions do not qualify for a refund:

• Books with minor imperfections such as slight creases, small dents, corner bends, or minor print inconsistencies (as books are sourced from overseas, minor imperfections are expected).
• Preorders unless there is an extreme delay of more than 3 months.
• Orders that have already been shipped and do not qualify for a return.
• Change of mind after purchase.
• Failure to submit a return request within 3 days of receiving your order.
• Shipping and handling costs, including the postage fee from the original order, are non-refundable.

Refund Process

1. Submit a Refund Request
   
   • Email us to hello@thebookbarks.com within 3 days of receiving your order with the subject: "Refund Request – [Your Order ID]".  In the body of the email, please include:
     
     • Type of refund: Bank transfer or store credit
     • Bank account details (for bank transfer refunds)
       
     • A copy of the original invoice
     • A completed return form
     • Clear pictures of the defect/damage
     • We will review your request within 5 business days and notify you of the next steps.
2. Approval Review
   • If your request is approved, we will notify you via email with return instructions.
   • If your refund request is denied, we will provide an explanation.
3. Return The Item
   • You must ship the book back within 5 days of refund approval.
   • The book must be in its original condition with all packaging and accessories.
   • Customers are responsible for return shipping costs.
4. Refund Issuance
   • Once we receive your returned item and verify its condition, we will process your refund within 14 days.
   • Refunds will be credited back by bank transfer.
   • You will receive a confirmation email once your refund has been processed.
